MPEG-2 Transfer Characteristics

ISO/IEC 13818-2 (recommendation ITU-T h.262) provides for specifying the transfer characteristics in the Sequence_Display_Extension if the colour_description flag is set in the header. Listed below are the defined values, their description, and what transfer function the compositor will assign when importing.

please note that gamma 1.0 is treated specially in the compositor and is absolutely linear, no power function is applied. (although if a power function were applied it should be very close to linear, only deviating due to computational limitations)
