Usage guide for Compositing with Carbon or MuxMan Blend Controls
From left to right:
Transfer function - this sets the transfer function, a curve designed to compensate for
non-linearity in display devices. The function can be set to sRGB, SMPTE 170M,SMPTE 240M, or simple power function (gamma) from 1.00 to 3.00 in .01 steps.
More The disable checkbox disables the transfer function for the current element, allowing
a comparison of transfer function corrected and un-corrected blending.
Rotation - rotates the current element to any arbitrary angle in steps of .01, 1, or 5 degrees.
Note: as of version 1.3 all elements can be rotated.
Opacity - controls blending ratios. 0 is totally transparent, 255 is opaque.
The 2 checkboxes are for images with an alpha channel, allowing the alpha data
in the image to be used or ignored. Also it is not possible with some files to
determine if the RGB data has been pre-multiplied by the alpha channel. Checking
"RGB is pre-multiplied" will prevent multiplying the RGB data a second time. For
this operation only the RGB values are not checked for over/underflow, making an
incorrect setting very obvious.
Renderer - allows forcing GDI or HiRes processing. Automatic will follow the setting
in the "save as" dialog box.
Standard Filter - from here you can select one of ten standard convolution filters to be applied to an image after
resizing, rotating, and deforming. The ten filters are: smooth, smooth +, blur, sharpen, detail, edge enhance,
edge enhance +, find edges, contour, and emboss.
Step Size - similar to the buttons on the positioning tab, these are the step sizes
in degrees for rotation.
